THE HOMES WE CARRY paints the portrait of a family torn apart between Germany, Mozambique, and South Africa. At the center is Sarah, an Afro-German mother, who wants her little daughter to have the relationships she lacked as a child. Therefore, she travels with her to Southern Africa, where both her own father and Luana’s dad are waiting for them.

"The dream that people have when they leave their country in search of better conditions
sometimes does not come true. I can say that everything depends on their luck.“
"What I like most about being Afro-German is that I can gain from both cultures. Even though I
didn't grow up in both cultures, I can take something from both and that makes me so versatile."
"When my daughter Luana was born, I was very emotional.
But unfortunately I could only see her first moments via Whatsapp."
"We already have grey hair and no one is interested in us. Both states are responsible for our situation because neither has kept to the signed agreements."
